Editing and Updating are two different processes in ClearPoint.

Editing refers to making changes to the descriptive information of an Element, such as its Owner, Description, or Data Source.

Updating refers to making changes to the data associated with an Element, such as its Status, Analysis, or Measure Data.

Editing

Edits are consistent through different Reporting Periods and include things like Owner, Description, or Data Source.

On a Detail page, Edit Fields do not have the Period Label you see on Update Fields.

  • Select Scorecards & Elements from your Control Panel

  • Select Objectives

    • Choose the Objective you are going to be working with

  • Click on the Pencil edit icon

  • Navigate to Edit Fields

  • You will find the Owner and Description

Updating

Updates change over time and include things like the Status of the Element, Analysis, Recommendations, or Measure Data. You would expect to provide a new value for every Reporting Period.

On an Element’s detail page, Update Fields are marked by the Period Label in the upper right-hand corner of the field.

  • Click on the Pencil edit icon

  • Navigate to Update Fields

  • You will find Analysis and Recommendations
