This article explains how to create and select what content to include in Briefing Books templates in ClearPoint.

Briefing Books in ClearPoint compile all the important information from different pages into one comprehensive document, making it easy for you to share project status or updates with your team and stakeholders. You can customize Briefing Books to meet your organization's needs to share the most relevant information.


Creating a Briefing Book Template

  • Select Documents from the Control Panel

  • Click on Briefing Books under Templates

  • Click on the Plus icon

  • Under Template Name, enter the name of the new template, in this example, ‘Weekly Report Central Division’.

  • Under Access select Global from the dropdown menu

    • You can also set the Access level to Private or Restricted

  • Navigate to the Scorecards tab

  • Mark the checkbox next to the Scorecard you want to include in the report

  • Once selected, the Scorecard will appear on the left panel

  • Select the Scorecard you want to include information from

  • Use the tabs to navigate to Objectives

  • Select a Summary Report

  • Choose one, multiple or all Objectives

  • Once you are done with your selection, click Save

You will find your newly created template under Briefing Book templates


Documents Library

  • Select Documents from the Control Panel

  • Click on Briefing Books under Documents

  • Use the checkbox next to All Users to see all previously generated Briefing Books or uncheck it to see only the ones you have created

  • Use the Show All dropdown menu to display all reports you have generated

  • Click the Download icon next to the appropriate book to view it


Selecting Briefing Book contents

Users can control elements displayed in Briefing Books by editing briefing book templates.

  • Select Documents from the Control Panel

  • Click on Briefing Books under Templates

  • Click on the three dots icon next to the desired Briefing Book

  • Select Edit Template

    • A new window will appear with options to edit

  • Navigate to the Scorecards tab

  • Here, you can select which Scorecards you would like to include in the report

  • When you select a Scorecard, it will appear as a tab on the left.

  • From there, click into the Scorecard from which you would like to add elements from

  • Use the tabs (Scorecard, Objective, etc.) at the top of this window to select the type of element page that will be included from this Scorecard

  • Check the box next to the Summary Reports and Detail Pages to be included

  • Include Linked Pages will include elements linked to the summary report(s) you have selected.

  • Once you are done with your selection, click Save

You will find your edited report under Briefing Book templates


Reviewing Briefing Book contents

  • Select Documents from the Control Panel

  • Click on Briefing Books under Templates

  • Click on the three dots icon next to the desired Briefing Book

  • Select Edit Template

    • A new window will appear with options to edit

  • Navigate to the Contents tab

  • All included pages are visible here with Summary and Detail labels as well as element icons to distinguish between these types of pages.

  • Contents can be deleted by clicking the X icon next to the element.

  • The order of elements and reports on the Contents tab reflects the order they will appear in the briefing book export.

  • Once you are done with your changes, click Save
