Series are the columns of data that are tracked over time in measure data tables. By default, an 'Actual' and 'Target' series are included in each new measure, but you can always personalize it by changing the series in Admin Options to match your specific requirements.

Add a Default Series

  • From the Control Panel click on System Settings

  • Select System Setup

  • Click on Default Series and Charts under Standard Features

  • Click on the Plus icon

  • Under Default Series Name, enter the name of the new Default Series, for example, ‘Variance’.

  • Select a Data Type from the dropdown menu

    • By default the data type is Currency

  • Use the first two checkboxes to Hide series in summary reports or Hide series in summary reports and data tables

  • Use Lock series for updaters so that they cannot input data into the series.

  • Navigate to the Calculation tab

  • In this example, we are going to use the following formula (Target - Actual)

    • You have the option to set a calculation for the series.

    • This will automatically apply to all new measures that are created.

    • Check out our Help Center article on Creating Calculations for more information on getting this set up.

  • Navigate to the Evaluations tab

  • Mark the checkbox next to Use this series for overall element evaluation, this criteria will automatically be an Evaluation Option for all new measures that are created.

  • In this example, the evaluation criteria will be when the Variance is Greater than or equal to 1 then its Above Plan

    • Take a look at our Series Evaluations Help Center article (in the ‘Automatic measure evaluation’ section) for more specific instructions.

  • Once you are done with your changes, click Save

Edit a Default Series

  • From the Control Panel click on System Settings

  • Select System Setup

  • Click on Default Series and Charts under Standard Features

  • Click the edit Pencil icon next to the Default Series you want to edit

  • In this example, we are going to change the Data Type to Currency

  • Once you are done with your changes, click Save

Delete a Default Series

  • From the Control Panel click on System Settings

  • Select System Setup

  • Click on Default Series and Charts under Standard Features

  • Click on the three dots icon next to the Default Series you want to Delete

  • Select Delete Default Series

  • Confirm you wish to delete the Default Series by clicking the Delete red button
