Overview of ClearPoint Strategy Snowflake integration
ClearPoint integrates with Snowflake to support secure, scalable access to your organization's data. This document provides an overview of how the integration works, what is required, and how to use it with the ClearPoint Data Loader.
To utilize Snowflake with ClearPoint, your organization must have its own Snowflake account. You are responsible for managing and administering this account. If you're interested in setting up the integration, please contact your Customer Success Manager (CSM) for assistance.
What is snowflake?
What is Snowflake and How Does It Work with ClearPoint?
Snowflake is a cloud-based data warehousing platform that provides a fully managed, scalable solution for data storage, processing, and analysis. It is designed to separate compute and storage resources, allowing users to scale each independently based on their needs—making it both cost-efficient and flexible. Snowflake is widely used for data warehousing, business intelligence, and big data processing, enabling organizations to efficiently query and analyze large datasets.
How does it work with ClearPoint?
ClearPoint uses Snowflake to store all customer-related data securely. When a customer requests Snowflake access, ClearPoint provisions a dedicated Snowflake instance for them, granting access to an authorized user from their organization—provided they have an existing Snowflake account.
With this integration, customers can view and query their ClearPoint data directly within their own Snowflake account, enabling advanced analytics and reporting. However, access is strictly read-only—customers cannot modify, update, or create new data within ClearPoint’s backend. Instead, they can pull tables and manipulate query results as needed, ensuring a seamless and secure way to analyze their data while maintaining data integrity.
Data Loader Snowflake Integration
Data from Snowflake queries can be uploaded to your ClearPoint account by connecting your snowflake instance with the Data Loader. To Connect Snowflake to the Data loader you will need the following:
Snowflake Account Name
Snowflake Username
Snowflake Password
Once connected, you can upload data via SQL queries and map it into ClearPoint as needed.
For more information on selecting and mapping your files you can view Uploading SQL Files with the Data Loader.
Integrating Directly with Snowflake
If you have a Snowflake integration at your organization, ClearPoint can share live data directly to your instance to pull queries and manipulate as needed. If you are interested this, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager!
