Gantt Chart Summary Reports in ClearPoint provide a detailed overview of the project status. This will allow stakeholders to proactively identify and mitigate risks, ensuring your project stays on track.
Adding a new Gantt Chart report
Select Scorecards & Elements from the Control Panel
Choose Manage Reports
Open Initiative Reports
Click on the Plus icon
Under Report Name, enter the name of the new Initiative Report, in this example, ‘Upward Air Gantt Chart’.
From the Report Type dropdown menu select Gantt Chart
Check the box next to Hide Milestones if you do not want to display the Initiative’s Milestones on this report.
Select a Gantt Start and End date to customize the timeline displayed in the chart, which will also narrow down the Initiatives included in your Gantt chart. You can leave these fields blank if you want to see the entire timeline of all Initiatives included in the report.
Use Gantt Left Column Width to adjust the left column width to better see the Initiative and Milestone names by setting a pixel size (typically around 300px), or you can leave it blank and adjust the column width by dragging the column left or right on the report itself.
For Access Type, you have the following options
Global Reports can be seen by all users with access to the Scorecard
Private Reports can only be seen by the creator of the report
Hidden Reports users can hide reports to focus on relevant ones without deleting them.
You can also hide a report when creating reference reports.
Once you are done with your changes, click Save
You will find your newly created Gantt Chart Report under Initiative Reports
‘Initiatives’ tab – Determining the Initiatives to include in the report
Select Scorecards & Elements from the Control Panel
Choose Manage Reports
Open Initiative Reports
Select the Report you are going to be working with, in this example, ‘Upward Air Gantt Chart’.
Click on the edit Pencil icon
Navigate to the Initiatives tab
Check the box next to the Scorecards you would like to include Initiatives from
To include only specific Initiatives from the Scorecard, select Click to select specific elements.
Check the boxes next to the specific Initiatives to include in the report.
Once you are done with your changes, click Save
You will see your Gantt Chart report with the specific Initiatives you previously selected
‘Filter’ tab – Setting criteria to narrow down initiatives included
If you would like to further narrow down the Initiatives included in the Summary Report, you can add a filter.
Select Scorecards & Elements from the Control Panel
Choose Manage Reports
Open Initiative Reports
Select the Report you are going to be working with, in this example, ‘Upward Air Gantt Chart’.
Click on the edit Pencil icon
Navigate to the Filter tab
Click on Add Filter
In this example, we are going to create a Filter that only displays Initiatives with a status indicator ‘Below Plan’.
Once you are done with your changes, click Save
You will see the Gantt Chart Report with only Initiatives that are Below Plan
‘Element Order’ tab – Customizing the order in which the Initiatives appear
The Gantt Chart Summary Report automatically sorts the Initiatives in chronological order based on the Start date. However, if you would like to change this, you can follow these steps to customize the order.
Select Scorecards & Elements from the Control Panel
Choose Manage Reports
Open Initiative Reports
Select the Report you are going to be working with, in this example, ‘Upward Air Gantt Chart’.
Click on the edit Pencil icon
Navigate to the Element Order tab
Mark the checkbox next to Use Custom Element Sort Order
Drag and drop the Elements, or use the blue up and down arrows, to customize the order that the Initiatives will appear in the report.
Once you are done with your changes, click Save
You will see the Gantt Chart Report with the Initiatives in the order you have chosen.
