This article explains the actions that users with By Scorecard permissions can do in ClearPoint.

Assigning permissions By Scorecard in ClearPoint can be very helpful in ensuring that each team member has access to what they need. This will contribute to a more efficient and secure workflow.


By Scorecard User

If you are a By Scorecard user that means your access to ClearPoint is going to be different depending on which Scorecard you are working in.

For example, you may be a Browser user for 3 Scorecards an Updater for 1 Scorecard, an Editor for another and Scorecard Administrator for other 2 Scorecards.

Editing vs Updating

Update fields contain information that will change from one reporting period to the next. Some common examples are entering monthly Measure data and Analysis or providing a project status update. Please visit our Updater user Help Center article for more information.

Edits fields contain information that is consistent through different Reporting Periods and include things like Owner, Description, or Data Source. Please visit our Editor user Help Center article for more information.

How to set up permissions for a user

  • From the Control Panel click on System Settings

  • Select Manage Users

  • Locate the user you want to set up permissions for and click the edit Pencil icon

  • Under User Type select By Scorecard

  • Navigate to the Scorecards and Home tab

  • Under Select Scorecards you will be able to set different permissions for each Scorecard

  • You can select, Browser, Updater, Editor or Scorecard Admin

  • Once you are done with your configuration, click Save


Browsing Scorecards

Steps to navigate to Scorecards as a Browser, Editor, Admin. Add Elements. Create and Generate Summary Reports.

  • Select Scorecards & Elements from your Control Panel

  • Select Scorecards

  • Navigate to the Upward Airlines Corporate Scorecard

  • I have Browser permissions for this Scorecard so I’ll only be able to view but not to make any edits or updates

  • Navigate to the Eastern Division Scorecard

  • I have Updater permissions for this Scorecard so I’ll be able to update fields like Analysis and Recommendations

  • Navigate to the Central Division Scorecard

  • I have Editor permissions for this Scorecards so I’ll be able to edit fields like Owner and Description

  • Navigate to the Western Division Scorecard

  • I have Scorecard Admin permissions so I’ll be able to modify everything in the Scorecard.


Briefing Books

No matter which Scorecard you are in, you can always create and generate Briefing Books

Briefing Book templates allow you to hand-pick reports and details pages from Scorecards you have access to and turn them into a convenient PDF report.

  • Select Documents from the Control Panel

  • Click on Briefing Books under Templates

  • Click on the Plus icon

  • Under Template Name, enter the name of the new template, in this example, ‘Monthly expenses update’.

  • Under Access select Global from the dropdown menu

    • You can also set the Access level to Private or Restricted

  • Navigate to the Scorecards tab

  • Mark the checkbox next to the Scorecard you want to include in the report

    • Once selected, the Scorecard will appear on the left panel

  • Select the Scorecard you want to include information from

  • Use the tabs to navigate to Measures

  • Select Measures under Summary Reports

  • Choose one, multiple or all Measures

  • Once you are done with your selection, click Save

You will find your newly created report under Briefing Book templates

Your Admin has set what you can update in ClearPoint, if you have any questions about your access reach out to your ClearPoint administrator, they will be able to help you with any access-related questions and make any changes if necessary.
