This article walks through how to customize menus and element names in ClearPoint.

ClearPoint offers customizable top navigation options including Scorecards, Maps, Objectives, Measures, Initiatives, Action Items, and Risks, allowing users to adapt the platform to their company's naming conventions.


Renaming elements and menu items

  • From the Control Panel click on System Settings

  • Select System Setup

  • Click on Menu and Element Names under Standard Features

  • Click the edit Pencil icon next to the element you wish to modify, in this example, ‘Objectives’.

  • On the Default Names tab determine how the element will appear across ClearPoint. In this example we are going to use the following:

    • Name: Goal

    • Plural: Goals

    • Menu Label: Goals

      • Determines how the element will appear in the top navigation

  • Once you are done with your changes, click Save


Renaming elements within a specific scorecard

  • From the Control Panel click on System Settings

  • Select System Setup

  • Click on Menu and Element Names under Standard Features

  • Click the edit Pencil icon next to the element you wish to modify, in this example, ‘Objectives’.

  • Navigate to the Customization tab

  • Click on Add Customization

  • Select the Scorecard you want to change the name for

  • Fill in the Singular, Plural and Menu Label of your customization

  • Click on Close

  • Once you are done with your changes, click Save


Reordering elements in the top navigation

  • From the Control Panel click on System Settings

  • Select System Setup

  • Click on Menu and Element Names under Standard Features

  • Drag and drop the element to reorder using the six dots icon next to the name of the element

  • Once you are done, click Save Order


Hiding and un-hiding elements from the top navigation menu

  • From the Control Panel click on System Settings

  • Select System Setup

  • Click on Menu and Element Names under Standard Features

  • Click the edit Pencil icon next to the element you wish to modify, in this example, ‘Risk’.

  • Mark the checkbox next to Hidden to hide the element from the top navigation

  • Once you are done with your changes, click Save

You can also hide an element from the top navigation within individual Scorecards

  • From the Control Panel click on System Settings

  • Select System Setup

  • Click on Menu and Element Names under Standard Features

  • Click the edit Pencil icon next to the element you wish to modify, in this example, ‘Map’.

  • Navigate to the Customization tab

  • Click on Add Customization

  • Select the Scorecard you want to hide

  • Mark the checkbox next to Hidden to hide the Scorecard from the top navigation

  • Click on Close

  • Once you are done with your changes, click Save

Note: If you do not use an element in your ClearPoint account, we recommend hiding it from the top menu to prevent user confusion.
