Getting around ClearPoint Strategy is a breeze, and that's important for making the most of your strategy. The system is designed to be straightforward, letting you find strategic insights and organizational performance metrics with ease. In this article, we'll explore how ClearPoint's navigation is set up and how it empowers users to effortlessly navigate their strategic journey.


Overview of the top navigation menu in ClearPoint

The top navigation menu includes the following features.

  • Find what you are looking for by entering keywords in the Search bar.

  • The Period Selector indicates the reporting period you are in. You can use the toggle or select the date to navigate to past or future periods.

  • The Bell icon serves as your Alert inbox, for example when a notification is triggered or an export is completed you can navigate this Inbox to view the Alert and Download the Export.

  • Go to the Profile icon to manage your settings, quickly access System Setup, and Log out of your account.

  • From anywhere in ClearPoint you can click on the Home button to return to the Landing page.

My ClearPoint

Workspaces

  • My Workspace: Workspaces enable users to customize their strategy hub based on their roles and preferences, which makes managing projects and tasks easier.

Activities

  • My Updates: If your organization is leveraging Reporting Workflows, this page will include a list of all the elements you are responsible for updating during a given reporting period. You also have the ability to mark each task as Completed as you work through your updates.

  • My Favorites: From here you can access any page you have favorited. You can mark a page as Favorite by clicking the Star icon in the upper right of your screen.

  • My Scorecard: You can easily see all the elements you either own or collaborate with, and can quickly review or make updates.

Alerts

  • Notifications: Provides a list of all the notifications linked to your user, allowing you to manage the alerts you receive for changes.

  • Page Exports: Show any page that has been previously exported as PDF, PowerPoint, or Excel.

Utilities

  • Revision History: Provides a detailed overview of the changes made to your account, including, when the changes occurred, users, and actions performed.

  • Recycle Bin: Contains a log of all deletions made to your account in the last 30 days. Within the 30 day timeframe, you can decide to undo the changes or delete them permanently.


ClearPoint AI Assistant

ClearPoint’s AI Assistant: Will help you create strategic plans for different types of organizations, it can also help you create a strategic plan based on the management framework of your choice.


Goals

Setting up Goals or OKRs (Objective and Key Results) is an effective method for establishing, monitoring, and evaluating goals. This framework encourages team alignment and participation in accomplishing set goals or objectives.

  • Click on Goals from the Control Panel

  • Select My Goals

  • You can click on Add Goal, to create a Goal manually or use the Goals AI Assistant

  • Click the three dots icon on an existing Goal to Edit, Duplicate, or Delete a Goal

  • Click the expand icon to display your goals

    • You will be able to update the progress of the Goals assigned to you


Elements & Reports

Elements & Reports: Combines Scorecards, elements, and reports in a single tab for ease of access.

  • Select Elements & Reports from the Control Panel

  • You will find the name of the Scorecard you are in above the Search bar

  • The Search bar will allow you to easily find what you are looking for using keywords

  • Click on Scorecards, Elements, or Reports to see their corresponding Manage Page from where you will be able to perform different actions like, Adding an element/scorecard, Editing an element/scorecard, Duplicating or Deleting elements/scorecards.

  • On the Scorecards and Elements Manage Page, you will find the Tree Explorer icon at the top right to help you see the relation between different elements and their respective Scorecards.

  • Click on the expand icon next to Elements to display all the elements associated with this Scorecard.

  • Clicking on the expand icon next to Measures, for example, will show every Measure created in this Scorecard.

    • You can click on any Element name to access its Detail Page

    • The same idea applies to Objectives, Measures, Initiatives, Action Items, and Risks.

  • Elements on the left panel, Scorecards, Elements, and Reports, are scrollable for ease of navigation, you can easily switch the Scorecard you are in, select a different element, or find a different Report without leaving this panel.


Documents

  • Templates: Will help you find the Briefing Books, HTML Exports, and Dashboards templates you have created, from here you can Generate, Edit, Duplicate, or Delete a Template.

  • Documents: Will help you find Briefing Books, HTML Exports, and Page Exports you have generated in the past. From here. you can Download or Delete them.


Automation

Notifications & Reminders

  • Reporting Workflows: Helps managers define necessary updates, deadlines, and owners. Once a Reporting Workflow has been created, ClearPoint users can access their elements on the My Updates page.

  • Notifications: Will help you stay informed about any changes to the elements you are responsible for.

  • Reminders: Help you ensure users update their data in ClearPoint. Setting up reminders can help you never miss a deadline.

Scheduling

  • Schedules: Help configure reports to run automatically depending on different criteria that you can configure. For example, you can generate a Briefing Book the first week of every month automatically.

  • Calendar: Will show you all Schedules created in Calendar view, you can use different Filter criteria to display exactly what you need.

Data Integrations

  • ClearPoint Data Loader: An-easy to-use automated data management tool, can help you streamline your reporting processes, maintain data integrity, and foster more effective and efficient decision making.

  • ClearPoint API: Allows you to integrate ClearPoint with any application.

  • Zapier: Enables you to streamline workflows by connecting different applications using trigger and action events - all with code-free integrations.

Scripting & Bulk Changes

  • Bulk Changes: Make changes to Scorecards, Objectives, Measures, Initiatives, Action Items, Risks, Series, and Charts. These changes, depending on the element, can be additions, deletions, edits, or updates. Please note only Administrators can create and run Bulk Change Scripts in ClearPoint.

  • Scripting: Custom Scripts can be used to modify elements, summary reports, users, and more. It is intended for Administrators who need to make widespread changes throughout the ClearPoint account.


System Settings

Administrators have access to Systems Settings where they can perform system-wide configurations.

Users and Groups

  • Manage Users: You can easily manage users by creating new ones, assigning access levels, and editing existing accounts so everyone has access to what they need.

  • Manage Groups: User groups can be created to assign specific rules and permissions to a set of users.

Reporting Periods

  • Reporting Periods: Including reporting periods in ClearPoint allows for easy performance comparison over different time frames to identify growth, decline, or seasonal trends.

  • Reporting Frequencies: ClearPoint adds four basic reporting frequencies into your account: Annual, Fiscal Years, Monthly, and Quarterly. If you require a reporting frequency at a different cadence, ClearPoint provides you with the flexibility to easily add it to your account.

  • Fiscal Years: ClearPoint offers the option to use fiscal years instead of calendar years for financial analysis. This allows businesses to analyze their financial data according to their financial cycle, providing a clearer understanding of their performance.

System Configurations

  • System Setup: Allows you to make changes to the entire account, depending on your type of plan you have access to Standard Features, Professional Features, and Enterprise Features.
