1. Approval Settings

Scorecard-Level Configuration:

  • Admins can require approvals for updates, edits, additions, and deletions of elements at the scorecard level. This can be set up from the 'Scorecard Options' tab in the edit scorecard modal.

Require Approvals Checkbox:

  • Checking this box unlocks options to require approvals for specific actions:

    • Updates to an element

    • Edits to an element

    • Adding an element

    • Deleting an element

Scorecard Owner:

  • Admins must set a single Scorecard Owner who will receive all approvals.

Scorecard Collaborators:

  • Multiple collaborators can be selected with options to:

    • Allow collaborators to approve changes

    • Allow collaborators to make changes without approval

2. Making Updates/Edits with Approvals

Warning Messages:

  • Users will see a warning message in edit modals and in-line edits, indicating that a Scorecard owner or collaborator must approve changes before they are visible.

Pending Status:

  • Updated/edited elements will appear on the Manage Elements page with a 'Pending' status chip and be locked from further changes until approved.

Cancel Changes:

  • Users can cancel their pending changes from the Manage Elements page or the element's detail page.

3. Making Additions/Deletions with Approvals

Warning Messages:

  • Users will see a warning message in add and delete modals, indicating that a Scorecard owner or collaborator must approve changes before they are visible.

Pending Status:

  • Added/deleted elements will appear on the Manage Elements page with a 'Pending' status chip and be locked from further changes until approved.

Cancel Changes:

  • Users can cancel their pending changes from the Manage Elements page or the element's detail page.

4. My Approvals Page

Centralized Approval Management:

  • Once Approvals are enabled, all users will see the 'My Approvals' page in the My ClearPoint tab under Activities.

My Approvals Section:

  • Scorecard owners and collaborators who approve changes will see all changes they can approve, including element details and approval type chips.

My Changes Section:

  • Users who make changes requiring approval will see their pending changes, including element details and approval type chips.

This new Approvals feature in ClearPoint Strategy is designed to improve the oversight and control of scorecard modifications, ensuring that changes are reviewed and approved by designated personnel before being made visible. This enhancement is aimed at Enterprise clients who require a robust approval process for managing updates and edits within the system.
