Trendlines are a graphical representation that can be added to charts to provide valuable insights into how a particular series is trending over time. By adding a trendline to a chart, you can better understand the underlying data and make informed decisions.
Adding Trendlines to Charts
Select Scorecards & Elements from the Control Panel
Choose Manage Elements
Open Measures
Select the Measure you are going to be working with, in this example, ‘Revenue’.
Double-click on the Chart you would like to edit
Navigate to the Chart Series tab
Click on the edit Pencil icon next to the series you want to edit
From the Measure Series dropdown, select the series you would like the trendline to be based on
Under Label, enter the name of the new trendline, in this example, ‘Trend’.
Use Series Options to adjust the Shape, assign a Marker type, change the Color
Click Save
Click on Refresh Preview to see a preview of your changes
Locate the Advanced Options section
From the Chart Series Values dropdown, select Plot trendline using regression model
Use the Trendline dropdown menu to select the regression type you would like to display on your chart
Click on Refresh Preview to see a preview of your changes
Once you are done with your changes, click Save
